Dear Friends,

Now in our 43rd year, our concerts will continue to delight our audiences with another season of interesting, vibrant and innovative music. This season we welcome Michael Wayne, the new professor of clarinet at ESM who joins our community from the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

We offer you convenient options to subscribe. The full subscription gives you the lowest price per concert. Not in town during the winter? The three-concert flex subscription is for you, you may use those three tickets for admission to any three concerts.

We return to Hochstein for our first four concerts. Our very popular wine tasting at intermission will continue with the gracious support of Pinnacle Liquor. We are pleased to announce our season finale will be at the new Glazer Music Performance Center at Nazareth College.

A little known aspect of SCMR is our outreach activity. We believe that today’s student are tomorrow’s audiences. Funded by the New York State Council on the Arts, Rochester Area Community Foundation and our own generous donors, SCMR musicians perform and teach master classes in both City and other Rochester area schools. And, students are always admitted free to SCMR concerts!

Our Young Composer Competitions attract entries statewide from high school and college students. Winners receive cash prizes and their chamber works are performed in series concerts. These competitions are funded by the Howard Hanson Institute for American Music at the Eastman School of Music.

We are able to offer a variety of activities because of YOU. Whether you attend concerts or donate to SCMR—or both—YOU are the reason we exist! We hope you will join us for another year of wonderful musical experiences!

With best regards,

Linda Gillim, President
